I know! I used to live in a woodlands area where 2 families of these ‘honkers’ lived. Imagine hearing an entire family making those sounds 😄. When they jumped onto the roof of my tiny cabin and started walking back and forth on it, it sounded like a full grown human was walking on my roof (I was in shock and utterly confused the first time that happened). They weigh quite a lot. And have a funny way of walking, as you already noticed.
Wow, I love this story! I can totally imagine that it would sound crazy on your roof and a whole family! I loved how it walked, like Road Runner almost :)
I can just hear a peacock sound in my ears after reading this lovely list and am fighting every urge to send you a voice note with my impersonation haha <3
Very much feeling #9 in my writing at the moment, thanks for the words of encouragement to keep going (and to be honest with myself and my writing!). And I will now also be thinking about the quote in #16.
Yes, that weird honk sound... that's the sound they make. 🦚
Thank you for confirming. It's such an unusual sound, almost robotic then screamy. Love it!
