Dear Write As You Are friends,
I have been slightly lost in an editing hole for the last few weeks. I am almost there…37 pages to go. This means that my mind has become rather narrow focused and I can’t fire it up to find something to write that will be worth your time (and I certainly don’t want to waste anybody’s time with rubbish). So, today I turn to my back catalogue, which has some lovely things I wrote when I had extra brain cells that weren’t focused on commas and whether the word newborn is one word or hyphenated (Word is very weird about wanting to hyphenate words, and then changing its mind).
I’ve picked this particular piece because it’s one thing that I talk to writers about A LOT!
Making Writing a Priority
Do you want to write more than anything in the world? Does writing make you happy (even when it is hard)? Do you have aspirations of being a journalist, a novelist, writing a best-selling memoir or winning short-story competitions?
Writing this newsletter is an act of love and joy. I am committed to delving into the beautiful, the messy and the sublime that is this act of creating meaning through words. Ultimately, my goal is to remind you that you are Write As You Are.
