If you’d rather not receive emails about Teas and Tales you can customize your subscription and opt out so you only receive my Write As You Are newsletter. While of course, I’d love you to join me for Teas and Tales, I do understand that we all have busy lives and increasingly cluttered inboxes. 💜
In case you haven’t heard, I am running a monthly writing gathering called Teas and Tales and you are very welcome.
Let’s go back to basics so I can tell you all about it.
Teas and Tales is a shared writing session, that I hope will feel like an exhale into art. I wanted to create a cozy, welcoming space where we can rest into words and create stories together.
The idea is that we take a moment to brew a specific tea before the session to accompany us in our writing. 🌱 🍵🍃 The essence of the tea will guide the session.
As we meet, I will ground us with a short visualization, connecting us to the writing space and to our tea. I will follow this by reading a short poem (related to our tea or to the times) and then we will dive into some generative writing with short prompts. There will be space for a few people to share what they have written so that we can spend time in each other’s words (optional of course). Then I will close the session by reading a short story as we finish off our teas.
It really is a place to feel nourished by words, by the company of other writers and by the soothing tea.
Creative community is important.
The Teas and Tales gatherings are a nourishing balm. I hope you will join us to sip tea and write together.
When: Sunday, May 4th at 11 am PDT/ 1 pm CST/ 2 pm EST/ 7 pm BST
Cost: The suggested cost for Teas and Tales is $12USD, but please feel free to pay what you can, money needn’t be a barrier for sharing this space.
May’s tea to accompany us in our writing will be Jasmine 🍃
Was planning to make it today, but the day went into a different direction. I will still make a cup of jasmine tea and be with you in spirit later tonight. As with tea, all in good time...?
I was just sipping my jasmine tea when I remembered that this session is happening today. I won’t be able to join sadly, but will look out for the next one. Jasmine is such a beautiful tea.. so sensual and lingers on the senses. Calming too. It’s fast becoming my go to tea for when I’m writing.
