Oooooh I needed this. I have put off writing my substack this week wondering if the topic is "exciting" enough for readers. But actually, it's just a nice story I really like, that I know I will enjoy the process of writing, and that is why I write my substack. Thank you, friend!
such a potent reminder to ask who do you want to BE, rather than what do you do because when you feel that magical spark in your offerings, the glow radiates and becomes a gift to yourself ~
Just the word 'alchemy' puts me 'into the mystic' as Van Morrison would say. Also read with interest Swanson's Jane Friedman review on going from agent and publisher to self-publishing. Do you have a publisher Susannah or going indie?
It was on one of his earliest albums, Moondance - probably out before your were born-- 1970! YouTube it-- it's there. Great lyrics too. It will definitely put you in a mood (into the mystic one I don't doubt).
I can really picture this coffe place, you write it so well, it reminds me of Vianne's shop in Chocolat, full of magic and community ✨️💚 I love the idea of alchemy, it's left me thinking about what I can offer. I miss running in person workshops and being an alchemist for other people, thank you for the reminder ✨️
Ahh I am so glad that it created an image for you, and I am so happy that it reminded me of your alchemy....I can't wait to hear more about these in-person workshops. You've also just given me the most beautiful mirror to some of what I miss too... thank you!
Love this idea of alchemy. I run a fortnightly writing group because I love encouraging people to write and love what magically appears from that. But found that I was giving a lot so am now going to an online weekly one. I've found between the two of them I'm enlivened, encouraged and am finally really writing. So yes alchemy happens in many different ways :) X

What a beautiful way to put it! Thank you for this reflection, Sarah 💜💜

Ooh into the mystic, I love it! I think I live a lot of my time there haha.
Do you know the song Susannah? Think it's on Poetic Champions album. It's really really smooth.
I don't think so! I'll have to have a look. He used to get played a lot at a pub I worked in when I was 18 so I may have heard it without realising :)

Thank you for saying it so well, in such an affirming way. It was good to hear your warm voice encouraging me to carry on. Thank you💙
Oh yes, please do carry on, I so love your writing! Thank you for reading, Sofia 💜

I love to hear this! Yes the alchemy is in giving and receiving :)
This makes me want to smash all of my matching fancy cups, literally and figuratively.
hahahah, I wonder what you could create with all those smashed pieces?
